Have you ever noticed that some Charger/USB cable sets charge your device quickly while others don't? With Ampere, you can easily determine which ones work best for your device.

Ampere measures your battery's charging and discharging current. The app's PRO features include widgets, notifications, alerts on device and Android Wear.

However, not all devices are compatible, as some lack an appropriate measurement chip or interface. Please refer to the list of unsupported phones at the end of the description. It's important to note that the app is not designed to be completely accurate, but rather to help you evaluate which Charger/USB cable combination works best for your device.

To use Ampere, simply start the app and wait for about 10 seconds (the display will read "measuring"). Then, the charging or discharging current will be shown. However, these readings can be affected by several variables, such as Charger type, USB cable, phone model, running tasks, display brightness, WiFi and GPS state, among others.

If the app consistently displays 0mA, use the "Old measurement method" option in settings. Some Samsung devices, for example, don't provide accurate readings, which is a firmware issue.

Ampere measures the charging/discharging current of your battery. If your phone isn't connected to a charger, the app displays the discharging current, which is negative. When you connect a charger, the charger's current will supply your phone, and the remaining power will get charged into the battery.

Please note that LiPo batteries don't draw the maximum charging current for the entire charging duration. As the battery level increases, the charging current will decrease.

Ampere's displayed current values are an average from 50 measurements, minus the 10 highest and lowest values. While the displayed current may shake or be unstable, it can still provide good relative measurements to evaluate various chargers and USB cables for the same device.

It's essential to use the app with compatible devices listed on the app's website. If your phone isn't one of them, the app won't be accurate.
