Karttaselain Paikannin is an application that can be used to send location information to a Karttaselain application installation running on another device. Karttaselain Paikannin is available in Finnish only. Finnish description of the application is below:

Karttaselain Paikannin is an application that can be used to send location information to a Karttaselain application installation running on another device. Karttaselain Paikannin does not itself contain a map display or other location display features, but rather it only collects location information and forwards the information to the Karttaselain browser.

You can therefore install the Karttaselain Paikannin application on an Android device with an Internet connection and GPS support and track the movements of this phone in the terrain using your own phone and the Karttaselain browser.

The locator is set up as follows:

1. Install the application
2. Log in with your Oma Karttaselain credentials and enter the locator information
3. Click "Start locator"
4. Start Karttaselain on the device where you want to track the locator, and download the locators from your Oma Karttaselain account.
