Products made by Google Nest are known for their beauty, usability and helpfulness. The Nest app is no exception. With this app, users can control their Nest thermostat, arm and disarm their Nest Secure alarm system, keep an eye on their home with the Nest Cam, and receive alerts if Nest Protect detects an issue, all in one convenient place. Android phone or tablet users can also receive notifications through the app.

The Nest app is equipped with sensors, algorithms and uses the location of the user's phone to automatically adjust the settings, such as turning off the heat or turning on the camera, when they leave. If the user forgets to set the alarm, the app will remind them with an alert.

Nest offers a range of thermostats, including the Nest Learning Thermostat and Nest Thermostat E. These are programmable thermostats that learn from the user's behavior and help save energy. Users can easily change the temperature using the app from anywhere, view and edit their schedule, and receive alerts if the temperature gets too extreme.

The Nest Secure alarm system allows users to arm and disarm their home remotely from the app, and the app will remind them if they leave home and forget to set the alarm. The app also sends alerts to the user's phone notifying them of security breaches, such as a door or window opening, or someone entering a room.

Nest Protect is an intelligent smoke and carbon monoxide alarm that alerts the user and their phone when it detects a problem. The app allows users to silence an alarm using the App Silence feature, and they can easily check the status of the batteries, sensors, and Wi-Fi connection. The app also conducts a Safety Checkup to test all alarms at once and provides a Safety History, so users know when alerts happened and why.

Nest offers several security cameras to keep an eye on the user's home, including Nest Cam IQ Indoor and Outdoor, Nest Cam Indoor, Nest Cam Outdoor, and Dropcam. These cameras come with features such as activity alerts, the ability to talk back, and snapshots of the last three hours. Users can also check in 24/7 with crisp 1080p HD video (with Nest Cam and Dropcam Pro only) and receive person alerts. These features require a Nest Aware subscription, which is sold separately.

Nest Hello is a video streaming device, which allows you to answer your door from anywhere. Users can stay up-to-date with 24/7 video streaming, designed to show an entire entrance or doorstep, recognize visitors, and reply with prerecorded audio messages when they are not available to answer the door. Quick responses also lets them reply with pre-recorded messages.

Lastly, Nest x Yale Lock offers a secure and automated way to secure the user's home. Users can assign passcodes to trusted people in the Nest app, get alerts when the door is locked or unlocked, and set the lock to automatically secure when they leave using the Home/Away Assist and Auto-Lock features. An internet connection, Wi-Fi, and/or Bluetooth are required for certain features.
